Lorenzo Scaasi, a talented artist torn between duty and desire, discovers a mysterious box in his family’s atelier—a mask once owned by Leonardo da Vinci, granting extraordinary abilities.

His new-found talent gets him a commission by the wealthy Marco Contarini, who hires Lorenzo as a painter in his Palazzo. There he encounters the captivating Artemisia Contarini, trapped in an unhappy marriage.
